Portfolio: Taringa! Social Media and Crypto App
Introduction
Objective: The goal was to lead the design of the Taringa! mobile app, transforming initial concepts into high-resolution screens to bring to life the first mobile app experience to this famous Argentinian social media.
Client/Context: Taringa! is a social media and cryptocurrency platform aimed at users across Latin America. The project involved creating a user-friendly mobile application to cater to the diverse needs of over 110,000 users in the region.
Project Description
Problem Statement: Users of the existing Taringa! platform faced challenges with usability and engagement, which limited the app's growth and user satisfaction.
Scope: The project entailed a comprehensive design overhaul of the mobile app, focusing on improving user experience, integrating cryptocurrency functionalities, and enhancing overall usability and aesthetics.
Process and Strategy Research: Conducted extensive research involving conversations with nearly 100 users to gather insights on features needing improvement, creation, or iteration. This helped in understanding user needs, preferences, and pain points. User Personas: Developed detailed user personas representing the diverse user base of Taringa! across Latin America. These personas guided design decisions to ensure the app's features and interface met the specific needs of its users. User Journey Maps: Created user journey maps to visualize the experience of users interacting with the app. This identified key touchpoints for design intervention to enhance usability and satisfaction. Wireframes and Prototypes: Utilized tools like Figma to create wireframes and interactive prototypes. Engaged in multiple iterations based on user feedback and usability testing, refining the app's design to ensure it was intuitive and user-friendly.
Deliverables Design Deliverables: Delivered a comprehensive set of design assets, including wireframes, user flow diagrams, interactive prototypes, and high-resolution screens and flows. These deliverables laid the foundation for the development team to build a user-centric mobile application. Documentation: Provided detailed documentation outlining design decisions, user research findings, usability testing results, and design specifications to guide the development process and ensure the vision for the app was accurately realized.
